WWII veteran profiled by WLBT dies

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A veteran WLBT News profiled as part of the Veteran's History Project two years ago has died. John means passed away in December according to his wife of over 60 years, Anita Means.

Mr. Means was a sailor on board an LST during the battle of Okinawa during World War II.

The Puckett resident later worked with former President George Herbert Walker Bush in the oil business after the war.

The Mississippi Senate adjourned in his memory last week.
