Two women arrested for home break-ins

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Two Rankin county woman are behind bars charged with breaking into a number of homes in the metro area.

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said 33-year-old Melissa Comans of Pearl and 36-year-old Carrie Aycock of Florence were arrested Friday for burglary and attempted burglary of residences in the county.

The two are accused of forcing their way into homes in the Castlewood, Hidden Hills and Forest Point subdivisions.

They reportedly took mainly electronics including flat screen TVs, computers, game consoles and other items.

Comans and Aycock were at a south Jackson motel after a neighbor spotted them and reported their vehicle information to authorities.

The women were found with some of the stolen property in their possession along with narcotics and burglary tools.

They are being held at the Rankin County Jail.

Both are also suspected in other metro area thefts.

Sheriff Bailey said his department was assisted by the Hinds County Sheriff's Department, the Jackson Police Department and the U. S. Marshals Service.
