COLUMBIA, Miss. (AP) - Two more Lawrence County men have been given prison sentences for their roles in the 2008 shooting death of Richard Barnes and the wounding of 3 others.
36-year-old Leon Hayes was sentenced Monday by Circuit Court Judge Prentiss Harrell to 20 years with 15 to serve on a conspiracy to commit murder count.
Harrell also sentenced Hayes to 20 years with 15 to serve on an aggravated assault count.
Harrell also sentenced 34-year-old Kabaska Polk to 5 years, with 2 1/2 years to serve on an accessory after the fact of murder and aggravated assault.
This past Friday, two other Lawrence County residents, Jason Davis and April Garner, were sentenced by Harrell for their roles in the shooting that took place outside a roadhouse.
