JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police responded to the scene of an armed robbery that occurred around 11:30am Wednesday at the Family Dollar Store.

The store is located in the Delta Mart on Medgar Evers Boulevard.

The robber displayed a handgun, stole some cash and took off on foot in an unknown direction of travel.

Police describe him as a black male wearing all black clothing and a white bandana.

Just before noon, an arrest was made around the corner on Weeks Street.

However, police say a male, wearing red sweat pants and a white tee shirt, may not be the robber.

Jackson Police Officer Colendula Green confirms that the same Family Dollar was robbed last night.

The robber was wearing a white hood and dark pants. He took off with 2 cash register tills full of money.

Police are obtaining surveillance video to see if it's same guy.

The suspect has been handcuffed and driven to the Family Dollar store for identification.
