Senate Bill 2224 in currently in a Senate committee. The bill would require anyone who receives public assistance and is able bodied to perform a minimum 20 hours a week of community service for a non-profit in Mississippi or for a church were the individual is not a member.

A Family Dollar Store has been robbed twice in the past 24 hours. Police are watching surveillance video to see if it was the same man.

Twenty-eight Jackson Fire Department recruits took a accreditation test and only two passed. The city has appealed the test resulted and they'll be able to take the test again.

Mississippi unemployment is down slightly in December, but still in double digits.
