JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
One Jackson dollar store is hit by armed thieves twice in a 24 hour period.
Police were on the scene of the first robbery Tuesday night.
Roughly 13 hours later officers responded to the second 911 call at the same Medgar Evers store.
The thefts were captured on surveillance video and Jackson Police hope you can identify the men.
Around 8:30 Tuesday night, a black man with dark complexion entered the Family Dollar Store on Medgar Evers Boulevard.
He was wearing a black thick hooded jacket lined with fur and walked down an aisle while avoiding store cameras.
A customer at the counter appeared to see his gun and made a hasty exit.
Meanwhile an employee behind the counter may have been crouched down when the gun wielding robber approached her.
The worker fell backwards crawling away has the man advanced.
"He walked into the establishment. He displayed a handgun. He demanded money," said J.P.D. Officer Colendula Green. "He took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot."
The next day, around 11:30 Wednesday morning, a second man boldly enters the same store wearing a white hoodie with a dark shirt on top and dark pants.
The man pointed the gun at the cashier an took the entire tray filled with money.
"It's an unfortunate situation to where these subjects are coming into theses stores and just trying to find a quick buck...They are scaring these hardworking citizens who come to work everyday making their money the legal way," Green said.
Investigators told WLBT the manager; who was at the store during both armed holdups, reportedly quit after the second robbery.
Family Dollar stores in Jackson have been targeted at least once a month for the past two months.
On the night of December 17th, this same location was robbed by two men wearing hoodies.
One suspect pulled a shotgun on the store clerk.
One month later on January 17th, police investigated an armed robbery at the Woodrow Wilson store.
"We're just trying these subjects and bring them to justice," Green said. "We will find them."
