Storm-free and cooler

Posted: Updated:

The storms are gone, but in their wake is a 3.5 mile tornado path in southeast Copiah County, near the Rockport community. The National Weather Service rated the tornado an EF-1, with max winds of 90mph. The tornado snapped and uprooted numerous trees, and damaged the roof to a barn. There were no injures.

Quieter weather will move in on Friday and continue through the weekend. I expect skies to clear tonight. Lows around 40.

For Friday and through the weekend...one word: Sunshine! Temperatures will be at or a little below normal. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be in the 50s. Lows in the 20s by Sunday morning.

Our next chance for storms will be on Wednesday.
