JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A man was killed early Saturday morning when he was unable to escape the flames that overtook his Jackson home.
Jackson Fire Department Deputy Chief R. D. Simpson said units arrived at 315 Highway 80 to find the house fully engulfed in flames around 4:30 a.m.
Three people were inside when the fire started, but only two managed to flee to safety.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart said 55-year-old Rick Holster died in the fire.
His body was found near the front door of the residence.
Stewart said Holster's body was badly burned.
An autopsy will determine whether he died of smoke inhalation or the burn injuries.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
