JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The morning started off with a bit of frost and a 'bite' in the air with a chill hovering in the mid 30s. Warming sunshine will thaw us out to a very mild day and a warm work week. The normal high for this time of the year is in the mid 50s, be we will rise to the mid 60s today. Winds will be from the south at 10-15 mph.
Tonight the skies will stay clear, but the winds will pick up momentum. That little change/glitch (in the form of the winds) will make a tremendous difference in how it feels overnight. We won't have such a hard chill in the air, thanks to the winds out of the southeast at 10-15 mph. Temps will only fall into the mid 40s
Tomorrow increasing moisture will translate into increasing clouds start in the mid morning hours. Additionally, the temps will climb into the lower 70s; making for a very warm January day. There will also be a very slight chance of rain in the forecast; 20% possibility of rain in the afternoon hours.
