HATTIESBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A national magazine rates the University of Southern Mississippi among the nation's most popular universities.
In a recent analysis by U.S. News & World Report, USM ranked number 43 out of more than 250 national universities.
Two other schools from the Magnolia State also made the list.
Mississippi State placed 65th and Ole Miss landed in the middle of the pack at number 127.
A school's popularity among students is based on the percentage of applicants accepted by a college who actually end up enrolling at that university.
