Central District Transportation Commissioner Dick Hall says some incorrect and graffiti covered signs on the interstate highway system in the Jackson area will soon be replaced.
Hall was particularly upset with this sign that has the word Reservoir misspelled near County Line Road and I-55.
Hall promised to look at some other sign problems we pointed out to him, like this one describing Woodrow Wilson Avenue as Woodrow Wilson Drive.
There is an example of a new sign near Fortification Street where it is properly designated as Woodrow Wilson Avenue.
There is a sign on I-55 at I-220 southbound which indicates two lanes are exit only. When in fact, only one lane to I-220 is exit only, causing motorists to change lanes when they don't have to.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation makes its own signs in a shop in Jackson.
Commissioner Hall promised the signs on I-55 North at Highway 25 that someone has painted with graffiti will definitely be replaced, but he doesn't know when and at what cost.
