This Sunday millions of Americans will watch the biggest sporting event on the planet. Hosting parties for the Super Bowl is a yearly tradition for many people, and getting the right television to watch it on is a must have. Tickets to this years game are averaging about four three thousand dollars a piece. Many people are opting to watch the game at home for a fraction of that, in crystal clear high definition.
Lucy Moore is planning her own party. "I'm trying to have a Super Bowl party. I want it to look good in the TV not a small screen but a big screen TV," says Moore.
Johnny Maloney at Cowboy Maloney's Electric City says "The game this year is a lot more interesting.. better for us with Eli being in there, were seeing about a 15 percent increase over sales from last year."
Maloney says it's really a consumers market for those wanting to purchase an HDTV. The technology keeps getting better, and prices, keep getting lower.
"With TVs you got your formats, LED, LCD and plasma. What we have found is people are looking for bigger sets and a lower price that's what we've been able to offer. TVs like the 60 inch TV you can get for $999.00 that's been a big seller for us. For the bigger screen size, you want 1080p which gives you two million pixels.. the smaller screen, 720 p works with a million pixels... that works fine."
Experts say you should also look at the television's megahertz refresh rate, the higher the number, the better the picture, and the more you and your guests can enjoy the game.
