Super Bowl XLVI prep underway

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Traditionally, the pizza business is extremely busy on Super Sunday. For some Pizza parlors, like the Pizza Shack on Old Canton Road, it's the busiest day of the year. For that reason, managers are planning ahead.

"We're getting here early, making up extra dough and having extra people on staff to make sure everybody can get their food in 15 or 20 minutes and that kind of thing. So it's going to be a really exciting day tomorrow, it always is," said Matt Gaines, Pizza Shack General Manager.

Area package stores are also seeing a spike in business. The owner of Ridgeland Wine and spirits says he thought heavy rain would put a damper on his business.

"I was surprised, it was really busy and tomorrow's Sunday as you know and I think that it will be busier in the evening," added Rudy Daghmach.

Meanwhile, local grocery stores were buzzing with activity. Jerry Ramirez is from Louisiana and is planning a big party.

"My family is coming down to join me for the Super Bowl, planning on having a big Louisiana cook-out, which I miss so much. So, you know, watch the game, really enjoy the family, have a good day," added Super Bowl partier, Jerry Ramirez.

Douglas Leggett already has prepared his grocery list.

"Oh man, them Patriots, that's my team. It's wings, Sprite and bud light and we're going, we're probably just going to have a big party at the house and I guess just enjoy the Super Bowl, man," Leggett added.

So some people we talked to are getting ready today and some are putting it off until tomorrow. But it seems like just about everybody we talked to has big plans for tomorrow's big game.
