JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The Hinds County Department of Human Services building on Medgar Evers Boulevard has been evacuated and apparently closed because of a possible natural-gas leak.
A security guard told our crew to "Clear the area, it's a big gas leak."
The Jackson Fire Department was at the scene as well as a crew from Atmos Energy. Atmos spokesman Robert Lesley told WLBT News that the company had been asked to check it out, but that no leak had been found yet.
Security guards were not letting anyone enter the property and said just before noon that the facility would be closed for a couple of hours.
