Hinds deputy hit by car

Hinds County Deputy Mike Boyd was hit by a car on Highway 80 at the Metrocenter early Tuesday afternoon. he was overseeing an inmate detail that was cutting grass.

A car had stopped to allow Boyd to pick up a piece of paper on Highway 80. The car that was stopped was hit from behind by another car. The car that had stopped then hit Boyd.

Boyd has a broken leg according to Chief Deputy Chris Pecou.
