Student arrested after alleged bomb threat at JCJC

A 19-year-old Jones County Junior College student has been arrested for allegedly writing a note claiming there was a bomb on campus.

Harold Wayne Hadley, Jr. was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home in Seminary after a note was found in a bathroom of the industrial services building claiming a bomb had been placed in the school library. Officials immediately closed the library and the industrial building, and a bomb-sniffing dog was brought in from Hattiesburg.

In all, 11 agencies responded to the campus, but no bomb was found. Officials said Hadley was arrested after they matched his handwriting to the note written on toilet paper found in the bathroom. If he's convicted, Hadley faces 10 years in prison and a $10,000-dollar fine.
