The Rankin County attorney who misappropriated the inheritance for the grandson of a civil rights legend now has the chance to get out of jail on contempt charges.
Bond for Michael J. Brown was set at 100-thousand dollars by judge Dwayne Thomas.
Brown was supposed to establish a guardianship account for at least three-million dollars for the grandson of doctor Aaron Henry.
Brown never deposited the funds into a bank as required by a court order back in 2000. Instead he loaned and borrowed for himself more than one million dollars.
Brown must return to court March 20th to show what he did with all the money.
