JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Nationally renown artists have traveled to the capital city for Mississippi Pulp Con 2012.

The event started at noon and runs through midnight at the Mississippi Arts Center in downtown Jackson.

Pulp Con celebrates western, Sci-Fi, fantasy, crime drama, horror magazines and films. Comic book vendors, artists and authors have filled the halls of the center. This second year of Pulp Con features zombie artist Billy Tackett, as well as Patrick Burns and Marley Gibson who have appeared on Tru TV and the Travel Channel for their para normal investigations.

Film makers and a stunt man are also in attendance.

"I think it's import that science fiction and comics and horror are properly represented in film and in print, keeping the stories of who they all evolved alive,"  the evening culminates with the 12th annual blackheart ball...organizers say come dressed in your best Goth gear for an evening of fun anti-valentines day celebrations.
