Sunshine will warm us into the 40s today. This is still about 15 degrees below normal for this time of year.
We'll cloud up tonight, but low temperatures will still drop below freezing.
Some light precipitation may begin to develop over our area Monday morning. Given the cold temperatures in place, this light precipitation may fall in the form of light sleet and/or light snow. I want to stress that if this occurs, the precipitation will be light and with ground temperatures above freezing, there shouldn't be any travel issues. The most likely areas to see frozen precipitation are north of I-20, but I wouldn't rule out some light sleet further south.
Temperatures will warm above freezing by late morning, allowing all precipitation to change over to rain. The rain will get a little heavier through the day Monday into Monday night.
Rain chances will end Tuesday morning.
