Picayune man charged with child sexual battery - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
A Pearl River County man has been charged with the sexual battery of a young man that occurred over a 6-year period in the early 1990s.
The Picayune Item reports (http://bit.ly/zLfISn ) sheriff's investigators charged 86-year-old Lavell Collum with sexual battery on Jan. 30 after a victim came forward.
Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier said the male victim told investigators that the alleged sexual battery occurred from the time he was 10 years old until he was 16 years old, from 1989 until about 1995.
Saucier said an investigation into the claim provided enough evidence to charge Collum with the crime.
It couldn't be determined if Collum had an attorney.
