Close Call For Deputy

A Hinds County deputy is counting his blessings tonight.  This is Maggie Wade with an update on breaking news we first told you about, and some of the other stories you'll see tonight at 10 on WLBT.

A routine traffic stop turned into a chase and has left one deputy injured.  A manhunt was underway to find two suspects.

3 Hinds County men are in jail facing drug charges.  The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics found more than 400 pounds of pot at Paradise Auto Sales in Jackson.

Several city officials in Tutwiler have been fired after they were caught on tape encouraging a mentally challenged teenager to eat hot cinnamon.

No rain today but lots of clouds!  Chief Meteorologist Barbie Bassett says more rain is in the forecast through the weekend.

And Sports Director Rob Jay will introduce you to the first of nine finalists for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award.
