The Mississippi Supreme Court has upheld a $150,000 jury award to a female police officer in her sexual harassment lawsuit against Belzoni and two officers, including the police chief.
A Humphreys County Circuit Court jury in 2010 awarded officer Shirley Johnson $50,000 each from the city, Police Chief Mickey Foxworth and officer David James.
Johnson alleged she was harassed by James and that the chief didn't do anything about her complaint.
Johnson's attorney said his client testified she was the victim "of ongoing sexual harassment on a frequent basis."
The city contended the evidence didn't support the decision.
