OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Ole Miss has released a statement from freshman Jelan Kendrick, apologizing for his role in Thursday night's postgame argument with teammate Reginald Buckner in the tunnel outside the locker room.
Kendrick said Friday that "I want to apologize for my behavior after the game (Thursday) night. It was a frustrating night, and I let my emotions get the best of me."
He says his "language was unacceptable" and that as a team, "we have put this behind us and are ready to finish the season strong."
Kendrick and Buckner had to be separated by the coaching staff after a 102-76 home loss to Vanderbilt. Ole Miss didn't announce any discipline measures for either player.
The Rebels (15-10, 5-6 Southeastern Conference) travel to face No. 1 Kentucky (25-1, 11-0) on Saturday.
