Heavy rain overspread much of central and south Mississippi on Saturday. This caused problems due to the already saturated ground from heavy rains earlier this month.
The hardest hit areas have been across south Mississippi, where rainfall totals exceeded three inches in many areas.
Numerous roads were reportedly covered by water in Lamar and Marion counties.
Flood-prone areas across the metro also saw water rise. This was especially noticeable along the Terry Road area of south Jackson.
The heaviest rain will move out this evening, but some showers will remain possible through Sunday morning.
We'll dry out for a couple of days, but I expect rain chances to return on Wednesday.
