Two dangerous inmates from Central Mississippi who escaped from an Alcorn County Jail now face new charges.
David Payton, 31, is from Hinds County and is serving a 25 year sentence for armed robbery.
Kendrick Lamont Davis, 27, is from Sharkey County and is serving time for residential burglary and attempted rape.
Authorities say both men escaped by assaulting a prison guard and jumping two fences Thursday at the Alcorn County Regional Jail. Within 30 minutes of escaping they allegedly attacked a woman.
Corinth's Police Chief said Davis and the woman know each other, but he does not know what provoked the confrontation.
Both men hid inside the home and were quickly detained. They are now charged with burglary with intent to assault, escape and assaulting a corrections officer.
