A number of South Jackson homes and businesses were forced to boil water and purchase bottled water due to a waterline breach.
City workers worked heroically in the pouring rain and absolutely miserable conditions to repair the waterline.
The City of Jackson has an aging waterline system that desperately needs addressing.
We all remember the summer of 2010 and last winter when for several days Jackson businesses and residents had to boil water and purchase bottled water.
Infrastructure problems didn't just happen and it won't be resolved quickly.
It should be government lesson 101 that you must invest in those unglamorous capital projects like waterlines.
Like the old saying goes, "Pay me now, or pay me later."
