The City of Jackson has lifted its boil water notice for south Jackson. City officials say a leak in a large water main in West Jackson caused the problem.
A two-inch hole in the pipe, a 42 inch main, began to leak several weeks ago. Crews repaired the problem over the weekend.
The Health Department has spent the past few days testing the water, making sure it is ok to drink. Now after two consecutive days of clear testing, the water has been deemed safe.
