It was "Swine Time" at the Jackson Medical Mall Saturday night.
Twenty-six medical center departments entered the competition to raise money.
Each department chose a theme, which ranged from the wild west to the circus and popular television shows.
This year's is the 22nd annual event and all of the money raised by taste of the U Goes to an on-campus project.
"This year all the money raised is going to go to the Children's Justice Center, which is an investigative, a medical investigative area for children who may have been abused," said Jack Mazurak, UMC spokesman.
The chair of the event is Doctor Helen Turner, who is retiring after 28 years of service at UMC.
A panel of celebrity judges selected several titles including best taste, best presentation and over-all showmanship.
Ticket sales were up this year as more than 1,000 people were expected to attend.
