RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Rankin County man, arrested for murder in a Monday morning shooting, had his initial court hearing Tuesday.

Richard Glenn Lewis, 52, is charged with murder and has admitted he shot and killed the man.

A neighbor passed by Lewis' home in the 400 block of Old Lake Road, in the Robinhood neighborhood of Rankin County, Monday morning.

The neighbor discovered this body when he stopped to check on Lewis.

Neighbors say the shooter was being terrorized by the victim, 46-year-old Christopher Eugene Hankins of Brandon.

Lewis appeared before Rankin County Judge Kent McDaniel.

He will undergo a mental evaluation before his case is sent to a grand jury.

Lewis has confessed to the crime and is cooperating with authorities.
