COPY-$1 million bond set in Gulfport shooting

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Gulfport police have arrested a 48-year-old man on a murder charge in the shooting of a man who was facing a murder charge when he was killed four months ago.

Deputy Police Chief Leonard Papania tells The Sun Herald ( ) Ray Charles Stapleton is accused of firing at 26-year-old Darcel Marquis Anderson on Oct. 30.

Anderson was found on the street outside Club Sensations with a single gunshot wound to his head. He died at a hospital.

Papania says Stapleton was arrested Tuesday and is being held at the Harrison County jail on a $1 million bond.

Anderson was shot while he was free on bond following his arrest on a murder charge. He was accused in the May 21 shooting of 20-year-old Iszaya Minter outside another nightclub.
