Auditor sues supervisor

It's a "leap day", "hump day" and stormy weather is threatening.

I'm Howard Ballou with Wednesday's look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

Active day for State Auditor Stacey Pickering. He's filed a civil lawsuit against Hinds County Supervisor Robert Graham for wages he received while employed by the City of Jackson.

The Auditor's Office is also investigating the $35,000 utility fund stipend that Southaven Mayor Greg Davis until recently received as part of his salary.

Governor Phil Bryant says not enough has been done locally or nationally to deal with what he calls a "massive, uncontrolled" immigration policy.

Plus, educators from across the region teamed up to discuss how to get more students in and through college.

And in national entertainment news, if you're old enough to remember The Monkees, you'll be saddened to know Davy Jones died. He was 66.

Warm weather and fast moving clouds. Sounds like a recipe for some severe weather. Chief Meteorologist Barbie Bassett will have your full First Alert Forecast.

Sports Director Rob Jay has all the scores and highlights of "Big House" basketball action and college hoops.
