RAYMOND, Miss. (AP) - Hinds Community College will be hosting the 30th annual Mississippi and the Arts Week from March 24 to March 30.
Many of the events are on the Raymond campus, with a few spread out among the school's other locations.
Kicking off the Arts Week will be Thacker Mountain Radio, the live radio show that usually broadcasts from Off Square Books in Oxford. The show will feature 2007 Pulitzer Prize winning poet Natasha Trethewey at 7 p.m. on March 24 at Cain-Cochran Hall.
The rest of the Mississippi and the Arts Week schedule will feature both locally and nationally known musicians, writers, athletes, photographers and more.
Among those speaking are journalist and writer Curtis Wilkie, poet Beth Ann Fennelly and writer Tom Franklin.
