CLINTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Two men remain at large following a reported armed robbery in Clinton Tuesday night. One of the suspected robbers, 26-year-old Christopher Demon Ellis is in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
According to Clinton Police Chief Don Byington, the owners of a Jackson gas station left work just before 11 p.m. Tuesday and were followed to their home at Pine Trail Apartments in Clinton Springridge Road.
When they got out of the vehicle, one man demanded money. He got an undetermined amount of cash and jumped into a car with two other people. A pursuit began on Interstate 20 and ended on Highway 80, in Hinds County.
That's where law enforcement officers with Hinds County and Jackson Police caught and arrested Ellis.
He is charged with armed robbery and being held without bond.
