Early radar images immediately suggest a vast increase in the moisture in the atmosphere this morning, making a strong case for storms this afternoon and evening. There's still a slight chance of rain in the morning hours, primarily in the areas north of I-20. We're expecting a high of 81 degrees; ample energy for supporting strong (if not severe) afternoon storms. The chance of rain is 60% with winds south 10-15 mph.
Tonight the main focus will be the showers and thunderstorms, especially with at 90% chance in the forecast period. A second wave of very strong storms is expected after midnight, overnight lows will be in the mid 50s. This also suggest the showers will linger into the early morning hours and commute for Friday morning.
Friday we're likely to have rain and lots of wet streets/road during the morning commute. Additionally we could see some light rain to heavy drizzle in the afternoon hours. Basically the skyline will stay gray and 'soupy' most of the day. Highs will be in the lower 60s and the winds will be from the northeast at 10-15 mph; making it feel cool all day long.
