
RAYMOND, Miss. (AP) - Lamar County School Board member Craig Morris has pleaded no contest to three charges stemming from a Jan. 24 arrest in Raymond.
Raymond Police Chief Jason Crotwell tells The Hattiesburg American (http://hatne.ws/Ab3YDD ) Morris entered a plea of no contest Wednesday to charges of DUI refusal, reckless driving and failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle in Raymond Municipal Court.
Judge Jimmy Morton sentenced Morris to two days in jail with one day suspended and probation for six month. He also ordered him to complete the Mississippi Alcohol Education Program and attend a Victim Impact Panel.
The judge granted Morris a 10-day stay of his sentence.
Morris resigned from his post as president of the school board on Jan. 31, after news of his arrest became public.
