Woman injured in Rankin County wreck

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Emergency crews spent much of Thursday morning on the scene of an accident on Highway 13 near Puckett in Rankin County.

A portion of the highway had to be shut down as responders rescued the victim from a yellow Volkswagen New Beetle. They had to cut the top off the car to get the woman out. She was then taken to a hospital by helicopter. No word on her condition.

The accident happened about two miles south of Puckett.
