JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Bond has been set for the man who allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend and then shot her.

Derrick Robinson, 37, of Madison went before judges in Madison Municipal Court and Madison County Justice Court Thursday and Friday on two different charges.

Robinson was given a $750,000 bond on a charge of attempted carjacking in Madison, while in Madison County he received a $200,000 bond on the charge of aggravated assault.

Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker says around 10:45 Wednesday morning, Robinson kicked in the door of his ex-girlfriend's home on Old Jackson Road just outside of Canton.

He then assaulted the victim and shot her multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Robinson was arrested later on that day on County line near Old Canton Road.
