Jackson firefighters battle apartment blaze

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson firefighters respond to a fire at an apartment complex shortly before 11p.m. Friday night.

When fire officials arrived at the Hiawatha Apartments at 530 Hiawatha Street heavy smoke was showing.

Several units were involved. No word on how fire the started.

The apartments appeared to be abandoned, but no firefighters on the scene would comment.
