New motions filed for serial killer Anthony Sowell

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -


19 Action News has found new court papers in the case of serial killer Anthony Sowell.

One motion asks the state's high court to keep him alive longer. He's now set to die October 29.

Last year he was convicted of killing 11 women and keeping the bodies at his home in Cleveland. But his first appeal hasn't even been filed yet.

Also, Sowell has two new attorneys for his appeal. Two others just stepped off the case. They were afraid they wouldn't get paid enough since the court caps payments for lawyers and they expected to put in hundreds of hours for an appeal.
