COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) - Sears Holdings Corp. will close its Columbus, Miss., store on April 29.
It is among three in Mississippi and dozens across the country that the company is closing as a result of poor holiday sales.
The Commercial Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/Ah2VsA) that while Sears has not released individual closing dates, a sign outside the Columbus store shows the close of the business is April 29.
The Columbus store occupies about 41,000 square feet and was 1 of Leigh Mall's original tenants when the mall opened in 1973.
Sears will close stores at the Metrocenter Mall in west Jackson and in McComb.
