JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Federal Judge James Graves, Jr. was honored Friday as a recipient of the 2011 FBI Director's Community Leadership Award.
The ceremony was held at FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Judge Graves was nominated for his outstanding contributions towards community service and youth education.
Last February, Judge Graves was confirmed to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
He is the second African-American judge to serve on the Fifth Circuit and the first from Mississippi.
