Manhattan Road bridge still closed - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
A concerned citizen called Three On Your Side for help about a bridge out in north Jackson. It's on a main artery to Northside Drive leading up to three area public schools.
The bridge on Manhattan Road is dangerous. It was closed to traffic last August. Nothing has been done to correct structural problems since then, according to Pastor James Henley, Jr.
He says the area next to his church, Fresh Start Christian Church, has become a dumping ground and is hazardous to children.
Not only that, we watched as dozens of cars and trucks traveled on Manhattan Road thinking it was open, all were forced to back up and turn around at the bridge.
Frustrated, Pastor Henley says he's called the city multiple times. The response: "it's on the list for repairs."
Our call to the city went unanswered Friday.
