Early morning drive by leaves one injured

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

An early morning drive by shooting leaves one man injured and Jackson police on the hunt for the gunman.

JPD Officer Colendula Green says the 45-year-old victim was walking along Watkins Drive near Lake Hico around 4:30 Saturday morning.

The unidentified man told investigators a man in a blue or black late model Camery pulled up beside him and opened fire. He was struck once in the upper left chest.

Green says the shooting victim underwent surgery and is in stable condition.
