Staying Breezy For Two Days...

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The morning hours starting off a bit mild and calm compared to what we expect by the afternoon hours. Warmer than usual weather is expected for today with temps rising into the mid 80s. Another wrinkle in the forecast will be the winds, staying very active this afternoon and evening. Winds will push from the southeast at 15-25 mph; with occasional gusts at 30 mph.

Tonight partly cloudy skies are likely and the winds will die down a bit. Southeast winds at 10-15 mph will continue to move across the state. And there will be a slight increase in moisture, keeping it a bit warm throughout the overnight period. Temps will only drop to the upper 60s.

Tomorrow the winds will pick up even more. Scattered clouds will start off the morning with increasing moisture during the mid morning hours. In addition to more clouds, winds will also pick up even more. Wind will shift from the south at 20-30 mph steady; and gusts accelerating beyond 35 mph by the afternoon hours. Chances of rain creep into the forecast by Wednesday and Thursday.
