JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The Rankin County attorney who misappropriated more than $1 million dollars from a guardianship account is back in the Hinds County Detention Center.
That's because Hinds County Chancery Judge Dwayne Thomas added an additional $150,000 to Michael Brown's bond and ordered him to repay the guardianship of Demon McClinton.
McClinton is the grandson of civil rights legend Aaron Henry.
Brown was supposed to put a $3 million dollar inheritance into a guardianship account for McClinton.
Instead, Judge Thomas says Brown mishandled more than a million dollars.
Court records show Brown loaned $550,000 to a Linus Shackleford and borrowed more than $507,000 for himself.
Judge Thomas also ordered Brown to repay more than $300,000 in fraudulent attorney fees.
