Most of us are thrilled to get one tax refund, but imagine getting a double refund this year. That's what happened to Whitten Middle school teacher Andrew Starks Tuesday morning.
"Miss Liberty Tax" surprised Starks with a tax refund for nearly $4,000. That's double the amount Starks would have originally received. Starks was chosen for the double refund because of his dedication to his students. Starks received the refund through the Liberty Tax Service "My Refund Story," competition. Starks didn't think he'd actually win.
"I did think that something was coming up through Liberty Tax, but I didn't think they were going to come to my school so I was just very surprised, very excited," Starks told WLBT.
Starks is the third winner to receive the double refund this year.
