JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Rankin County teenager accused of a gruesome hate crime is scheduled back in Hinds County Circuit Court Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. Deryl Dedmon, 19, was indicted on capital murder charges in September for the death of James Craig Anderson.

Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith says his office and other agencies working on the Dedmon case can't give out any details related to Wednesday afternoon's hearing.

Prosecutors say on June 26, 2011, Dedmon intentionally ran over and murdered Anderson. The deadly assault happened outside of the Metro Inn on Ellis Avenue in Jackson.

The assault was captured on surveillance video and landed on national media outlets like CNN. During last June's attack, Dedmon was accompanied by six other teenagers. Dedmon is the only one charged with capital murder. During an arraignment last September, Dedmon plead not guilty to the charges against him.

John Aaron Rice is charged with simple assault in the case.

Dedmon remains behind bars and is awaiting the start of his trial. He could face the death penalty, but Anderson's family members have said they would not support that.
