MOSS POINT, Miss. (AP) - Moss Point Fire Chief Mike Dale says he will retire at the end of the month after nearly 34 years with the department.
The Mississippi Press reports (http://bit.ly/GPcM9n ) Dale began working at the department in 1979 as a firefighter. He was made interim chief in 2006 and was given the permanent position in 2007.
Moss Point Mayor Aneice Liddell said that the city has offered an interim position to someone within the department, but he has not yet agreed to accept it.
In retirement, Dale says he's looking forward to doing some work around the house and catching up on his fishing.
