JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Jackson's Highland Square Apartments are back up and running, just two weeks before the complex's property and assets were to be sold on the Hinds County Courthouse steps.
The leasing office is open again after being locked up by deputies in February for failure to pay $29,000 in back taxes. Residents say they're paying their rent to the office manager, the same manager who was collecting rent before the office was seized.
Tax Collector Eddie Fair had told us that the owners had 30 days to pay up, or lose the seized property. Fair was not available for comment Thursday morning.
