MADISON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A 70-year old man managed to escape from his car after he was carjacked and kidnapped in Madison Friday night.

He was forced into a white Toyota Camry at the Walgreens located at 1100 Highway 51. The vehicle took off with the elderly victim inside. With the help of Metro One, Madison Police Officers and Madison County Deputies gave pursuit of the vehicle around 6:15 p.m. on Highway 51 near Gluckstadt.

"Members of the Madison Police Department, Madison Sheriff's Department were involved in a pursuit with two of the suspects involved in this case. Prior to getting to the stop sticks there at Gluckstadt and 51 they pulled over before they hit the spikes," said Madison Police Chief Gene Waldrop.

He says 20-year-old Rashun Johnson, 22-year-old, Jerome Van, Jr. and 23-year-old Thaddeus Henderson face charges of armed robbery, carjacking, and kidnapping.

The victim is 70-years-old and apparently managed to trip the lock in the trunk of the car to escape. He was found walking toward the interstate.

Chief Waldrop says he is in good condition.  An initial appearance for Johnson, Van and Henderson is scheduled for Monday at Madison Municipal court.   Chief Waldrop says additional charges are possible.
